Access to the Father

Ephesians 2:18
For through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.


Ephesians 3:12
In whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.


I have access to the Father!
Have you really thought about that phrase?  Really tried to get that?  It's something I "know."  A truth I've been told and read in God's Word.  But today it hit me right between the eyes.  I love how God does that!  I know this passage.  I've read it and even memorized it.  But today I saw and heard that verse like never before.  I HAVE ACCESS to GOD THE FATHER, the creator of the universe, the savior of the world.  I can fearlessly come into God's presence.  He welcomes me!  I can enter directly into God's presence through prayer.


Oh how this makes me re-evaluate my prayer life.  I don't want to take advantage of God.  To not take prayer serious.  I am entering God's presence when I pray. This amazes me.  


Thank you, Lord Jesus, Father God, for the power of prayer.  Thank you for loving me enough to grant me direct access to you.  I am sorry for the times I take advantage of you, for not taking serious the power of prayer.  Help me to remember the seriousness of coming to you.
