Mommy's Fall Break Goals

I was looking forward to this morning all week long.  Rising early, quiet time in the Word. No alarm clocks waking the kids.  No rush to get out the door.  Fall break is here!

I've been hungry for a extended quiet time.  I've been longing for a few days of nothing with the kids.  While there are still deadlines for work & piano lessons to teach, there will also be moments to spend with the kids. Plenty of moments, if I use my time wisely.  I've been pondering this morning a lot about how I spend my time.  Experienced parents can tell you how fast the years go, but it's a concept that's truly hard to grasp until you are watching the moments flee as fast as they came.  I want to make the most of every opportunity with my kids, yes.  The busyness, responsibilities aren't going way.  That's life.  That's how we make ends meet and pay the bills.  But I can also choose how to use the extra moments given to me.  Do I really need to check Facebook again?  No!  Do I really need to watch that TV show I missed the other day or read another blog post?  No!  I also don't need a family vacation over fall break.  We just need each other, and some creativity to make lasting memories.

So with that in mind, here are "Mommy's Fall Break Goals."
*Play with my kids.  Board games, puzzles, etc.
*Go on walks
*Read together
*Do a big puzzle
*Several trip to the YMCA to swim
*Get back to memorizing Matthew 5 together
*Work responsibilities: accomplish early morning
*Stay off social media during the hours my kids are awake
