Exploring the Psalms Week-2

I struggled this week. Sick kids & now a sick "me" have knocked us down. I did try to keep in the Word but I didn't keep up with the housework much this week. It's a disaster in here!

The Run to Him study had me spend time in Psalm 27.  In focusing on facts about David and truths about God, here's what I gleaned this week.

David:
Knew God's promises
Knew what God could do
Sought God's face
Wanted God to teach him
Had confidence in his future

God:
My light
My salvation
Stronghold of my life
Keeps me safe
My helper
Receives me
Teaches me His ways

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

Verse four is beautiful and I love to see David's devotion to God.  I long to be the same way; to have the thing I seek most be the Almighty God.  To live in His presence each day delighting in His perfections.

What steps are you taking to seek God each day?

  1. I think it's a wonderful idea to blog regularly about what you are learning from God's word! It would help me be accountable and also settle my lessons more firmly into my brain. You have been a huge inspiration to me. Thanks!

Me, too! I love being in the Psalms! So glad you are enjoying the study, and blogging about it! Blogging has been such a great "processor" for me, to think through all the Lord is teaching me!
