10-10 Challenge

I have been super inspired by Mandy at Biblical Homemaking.  She began a 10-10 challenge a week or so ago and I have thought it over and am going to try this challenge for myself.  Mandy has vowed to keep the computer/internet off between 10:00am and 10:00pm so she is available to parent the best she can when her kids need her the most.  I find myself getting SO distracted online and ignoring my kiddos and responsibilities.

Here's my plan - I'm going to give it a try for a week!  Beginning today the computer is going off at 10:00am.  Shutting down!  If I need a recipe I'll look it up on my iPod.  I will allow myself 15 minutes after lunch to quick check email, but then it will go off again.  I have one exception I will have to figure out - I work from home for our church and that job is solely online.  But I work only 10 hours a week, so i think I can do that either 8-10:00 in the morning or in the evening.  I'll give it a shot, I may find I need to allow another time in my day to get online and check church email.

But I'm up for the challenge.  Today is going to be HARD, I can already feel it!  But I'm ready for a new habit to form and excited to make time for what is important.  Here we go....shut down!  I'll let you know how it goes!
